Mississippi Steamboat Tour
Steamboat
I had a romantic notion of taking a trip on a steamboat, ever since reading Huckleberry Finn. I imagined the music, the heat and the beautiful scenery. Unfortunately the tour I took in New Orleans didn't meet all my expectations. To begin with the two hour tour took in a mostly industrial landscape, kind of like a paying for a tour of Birkenhead docks. The audio narration included the history of the containers we passed, along with the sugar processing plant, it was very different in Huckleberry's time.
However the steady movement of the steamboat made for a relaxing two hours.
